About us

Our clients all have very different personalities, lives, and needs. Your dogs also have very different personalities and needs. Because of this, we take the time to get to know you, your family, and your dog on a personal level to create a custom-tailored routine just for you.

Guided by a continuous study of behavior science and ethical application, we strive to educate our clients on why behavior occurs, how to change it, and how to do so while encouraging confidence, trust, and fun from your dog. The overall result is eliminating troublesome behavior that disrupts peaceful homes and damages the human-dog relationship.

Our clients trust us to diagnose and correct serious issues in their dogs. We have seen the worst of the worst, and empathize with pet owners who feel they have no other options. Maybe their family, friends, neighbors, vet, or even a different trainer suggested re-homing or euthanasia. Sometimes those are the safest options for a dog and their family; most often, commitment to an effective training program can help a family avoid this. Either way, let someone who is an expert in aggressive behavior give you a those options so you can make an informed decision.

We train in your home, in our home, or in public - wherever will achieve the best results for your dog. We encourage our clients to learn the "why" behind training application so you understand why some methods work and why some don't. We encourage clients to be actively involved in training to ensure longevity of newly learned behaviors. We help dogs find their confidence, encourage spirit, and encourage them to practice healthy alternatives to reported behavior problems. Not only will the dog learn how to be the model companion, but YOU will learn how to be the model dog owner and handler. We strive to be a part of your family and offer round the clock support and guidance. We often engage our colleagues in the veterinary, grooming, and daycare field to assist you in all aspects of your pet's life.

Lastly, we fully support both the rescue community as well as ethical show dog and working dog breeders. If you ever find yourself adding a new companion to your home, consider consulting with us for guidance on choosing the right dog for you. We often rescue and foster dogs with behavior problems, rehabilitate them, then place them in experienced homes who will maintain the structure they learned from us.

If any of this resonates with you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Getting pet owners the help they need is extremely important to us. If we feel we are not the best fit for your needs, we will gladly point you in the right direction as we are acquainted with countless other trainers with valuable and specialized skill sets that can help you achieve your goals.

Our Commitment to Excellence

A proud member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) as well as the Association of Animal Behavior Professionals (AABP), Envy My Dog is committed to personal accountability, promoting an ethical code amongst other dog trainers, continued study of behavior science and training application, and education for the pet care community and its clients.

A graduate of Companion Animal Sciences Institute with a diploma of Canine Behavior Sciences and Technology and specialized certification of Aggressive Behavior Specialty, we value the discipline of behaviorology. Studying behavior science purely gives us a logical understanding why behaviors occur and how they can change through applied influence. We strive to maintain fluency in our craft through updated course material, reviewing current professional articles from veterinary behaviorists, consulting with veterinarians and vet behaviorists, attending workshops, and attending seminars hosted by respected experts in the industry.

We give back to the pet care community by fostering for rescues, evaluating shelter dogs, teaching defensive handling for pet care professionals, hosting workshops for other dog trainers, and evaluating Animal Behavior College students in their final test phase of their course.

Our services are insured and we maintain positive relationships with local veterinary clinics as we have clients whose dogs require medication, frequent behavior evals, and training lessons in the clinic. Lastly, all our clients have access to a private Facebook group where we upload training videos of their dogs in board and train. This is often what gives our clients peace of mind that their dog is safe and happy learning new things. These videos also serve as learning materials for anyone in the group who needs it long after their programs are over.

Owner/Operator, Lead Trainer, Dip.CBST, Aggressive Behavior Specialist

-------------------

With 20 years of combined vet tech, kennel tech, dog daycare management, and training experience, supported by a diploma in Canine Behavior Science and Technology with a Specialization in Aggressive Behavior, I offer my clients a comprehensive understanding of troublesome canine behaviors. My sole focus is the particularly difficult dogs – the fearful, impulsive, and aggressive. These are dogs that are at higher risk for self-harm, harm to others, abandonment, and behavioral euthanasia. These difficult dogs and their families have become the love of my life. I strive to teach my clients how to better communicate with their dogs and mold them into the perfect companion animal where possible, and support families when they are obligated to make tough decisions due to dangerous behaviors. Pet parents always have options - let me help you understand the pros and cons to all of them and support you in your behavior journey.

As a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, I screen and hand-pick each member of my team because I value a strong alliance of ethical, effective trainers with unmatched interpersonal skills. As a mentor for Animal Behavior College's externship program, we believe in molding and encouraging the next generation of dog trainers to strengthen the industry.

If you're new to the industry and feel you can add value to our team, reach out for a chat! I love spending time with other trainers and aspiring trainer, helping them in their own business or adopting them in mine.

-------------------

My love for animals led me down a career path that consisted of pet sitting, veterinary technician assistance, and kennel work at boarding facilities and the animal shelter. My work at the animal shelter inspired me to become an officer for the voiceless at Douglas County Animal Services Department. Through my animal control experience, I quickly realized the reason many animals end up in shelters was due to their lack of training. Through all my difficult cases, I gained the compassion, patience, and skills necessary to help both dogs and their families sustain a more feasible and peaceful way of life.
